MISSION:

Our mission is based on the great commision found in Matthew 28:18-20

"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, [even] to the end of the age." Amen.

In other words we exist to Know Christ and make Him Known.  This is accomplished through evangelism of the lost and edification of the saved.

Primarily, we share the Good News of Jesus Christ with children in Western Colorado with the goal of seeing them making a commitment to follow Christ (evangelism).  In addition, we encourage and teach children to follow Chirst with greater maturity (discipleship).

ABOUT US:

Founded in 1974 as a non-denominational; Christian camp, Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je West is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization with a 52 acre facility that serves the community in a variety of ways offering programs and facilities to non-profit churches and organizations

1.Summer Camping program: Each summer, Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je West operates a variety of week-long camps for Children ages 7 through 18. Activities include outdoor sports, hiking and other group recreation. We provide meals, lodging, chapel services and more.

2.Year Around Retreats: The camp provides lodging, meals, and other facilities for non-profit groups in a local community, including Girl Scouts, Churches, Schools, and other outreach organizations that are recognized as non-profit by the Internal Revenue Service.

3.Camp Rental: We provide out facilities to these same types of organizations on a rental basis, where an organization can save money by providing their own food and cooking staff.

4. Young Adult Bible School: We provide an opportunity for adults to commit a semester or more of thier lives to the serious study of God's Word.  This takes place during the "off-season" during the Spring and Fall school semesters.  

The camp is operated without debt, and relies on the generosity of donations from individuals and organizations for support, in addition to any funds generated by the above activities.

Our greatest desire is that God would use Camp West for His glory in bringing people to him in evangelism and discipleship. Our prayer is that this occurs both in the retreats we host and the summer camps we operate for children and youth.

For good reason, we qualify the types of organizations that may use this facility to those who are best described as 'Bible believing'. In other words, they are churches and ministries that believe the Bible to be God's inerrant and inspired word, and live out their lives in regards to what the Bible teaches. That is not to say that all groups that use this camp are in total agreeement on all issues. But on the basics of biblical orthodoxy, we must agree.

Affiliations, Ownership, Denominations...

Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je West is an independent ministry, not affiliated with any one church or denomination, and not owned by any group, individual, or church. The camp has been a ministry of trust for the past 32 years, continuing to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and teaching the Bible as the cornerstone of this ministry.

Within the context of the camps and events we sponsor, we place a priority on the teaching of the Bible. It is our distinct desire that God would utilize this facility in many ways to cause others to grow in Him. We desire the camp to be a place of scriptural discipleship, where the word is taught, studied, and lived out that we may grow in grace, and love Jesus more each day. For how can we serve someone we do not love, and how can we love someone we do not know. And how can we know Him apart from studying His Word?
